Among the fish viruses which cause the highest economic impact in the european aquaculture, the rhabdoviruses are the most important. The rhabdoviruses infect fish species traditionally cultured (trout, salmon, carp), species with a bright future (sea bass, turbot, eel) and also wild species (perch, carp) even including some cultured crustaceans (shrimp). In this brief work, a review of the actual state of the rhabdovirosis of fishes in Europe according to the published data from the last meeting of the National Reference Laboratories of fish diseases of the UE are presented.
