Resumen


Este año pudimos leer en la revista Panorama Acuícola la aparición del la enfermedad de la mancha blanca o WSS (White Spot Syndrome) en varias instalaciones de cultivo de camarón en Honduras y Nicaragua, amenazando la importante producción de crustáceos marinos de Centro América. También se han detectado casos de WSS en la costa Sudeste de los E.E.U.U. y en el golfo de Méjico (Wang y cols., 1999).
